Glad you are here....

Welcome to The Silk Cafe blog.

This is just another medium to keep all our ladies in touch and to feel part of this group on a daily basis.

Stef and I intend to hopefully daily share some news and particularly pieces of encouragement, daily reading etc... so please mark us as a favourite and visit us often.

As always the other avenues are our FACEBOOK page as well as the FATHER'S HOUSE website. Blessings to you all.

The last couple of weeks....

Wow, what a couple of busy weeks!
Sorry that we have neglected the blog a bit, but with Fashion for Zanethemba and going to Johannesburg to attend the "Sisters of Africa" Conference, time has just run away with me.
I have so many thoughts running through my mind, but I guess the best way to start sharing all that I want to  is to say, THANK YOU!!! Thank you for supporting the fashion show, it was a phenomenal success. This entire event became more than I ever imagined it to be. Not only was it a financial success for Zanethemba, but it was a time of growth for the women of Silk Cafe; making new friends, encouraging each other etc. In the next couple of weeks we will be announcing the total amount that has been raised since it was decided to fund raise for Zanethemba (baby haven & Sinakho) - I think you ladies will be amazed !
The stage is set and we are ready!

A week later, Stef, Nyari and I were privileged to attend the Sister's of Africa conference at Rivers Church in Johannesburg along with another 1600 women from around the country. The guest speakers were Lisa Bevere (author of Fight Like a Girl and many more) and Charlotte Gambill from Abundant Life Church in the UK. We all went with great excitement, but I don't think any of us expected what we got. The teachings were so relevant to our lives as women as well as being challenging. A lot of food for thought given and as soon as I have processed it all, I promise to blog about it. Next year, we will definitely be attending and would love all of you to join us.

I am so excited to tell you all about what we have on our hearts for Silk Cafe and for where we believe God is taking us, but that is for another time.

In the meantime, keep praying for God's direction in your life and keep your heart and mind open for where He wants to take you.

All my love,
Sue
