Recapturing Wisdom

At the moment, as most of you know we are currently running the 'Fight like a Girl" DVD series by Lisa Bevere on a Thursday evening for 6 weeks and last night was the 3rd week. In last nights sessions she focused on wisdom and having a good understanding of God's words regarding wisdom.
She asked a simple question; "what is the difference between wise women & foolish women?" answer: Knowing when to let go....and when to hold on. For me, this struck a cord! I think so many of us hold on to bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, pain, the past etc. and as we move into an exciting time in the life of the church there is no better time to hold onto God's promises and let go of life's dissapointments.

Proverbs 3:13-18
"Happy is the person who finds wisdom and gains understanding. For the profit of wisdom is better than silver, and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you life in her right hand, and the riches and honor in her left. She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly"
James 1:5-6
"If you need wisdom-if you want to know what God wants you to do-ask him,and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent you asking. But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind"

So girls, let us take to heart these two verses and let us challenge ourselves to get rid of the old issues that are holding us back and to pray for wisdom and a refreshing from Him as we step into a new chapter.

Sue
